Fabricator Welder

About
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Fabricator Welder to work for a company based in Southampton, Hampshire. The company is well founded and has ambitions for rapid growth. Operating within UK manufacturing and subsea industries, the company manufactures products to customer requirements and also undertakes special projects and designs.
For the right candidate the position could lead to higher responsibilities and excellent career progression.


Responsibilities

· MIG welding of mild steel (S355 between 5 - 80mm) including multi-run & Pre-heating
· TIG welding of stainless steel and aluminium is desirable
· Read and interpret detailed fabrication drawings
· Operate electric hoists and carry out manual handling
· Use jigs, tools and equipment to fabricate
· Mark off, burn, grind, drill and use templates during fabrication
· Set out steel sections, assemble, tack weld in to position
· Complete job report cards to document work completed


Experience/ Qualifications
· C&G Level 3 (or equivalent) in Fabrication and Welding, or similar.
· Experience welding plate steel, from 5-60mm.
· Experience using pillar & MAG drills.
· Experience using horizontal band saw.
· Experience in MIG/Flux-Core multi-runs and use of ceramic backing tiles.
· Experience in TIG welding desirable.
· Understanding of lifting equipment and testing desirable but not essential.


Salary& Benefits
· £17.00 p/h
· 37.75 hour week
· 22 days paid holiday

CNC Programmer - Turner

About:

Vulcan Offshore is recruiting an experienced CNC Turner with experience in programming Fanuc controllers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for programming and operating a Doosan Puma 2100 CNC lathe, to produce high-quality components, predominantly out of stainless steel and aluminium. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and mechanical knowledge, all programming is done directly on the machine. The successful applicant will demonstrate attention to detail and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimise CNC programmes for milling processes.
  • Set up and operate CNC machinery, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Utilise hand tools and basic maths skills for precise measurements and adjustments.
  • Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other team members to improve production processes.
  • Maintain tooling and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • Assemble components as required, demonstrating strong mechanical knowledge.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to CNC programming or machine operation.


Experience:

  • Proven experience in CNC programming, particularly with milling machines.
  • Knowledge of Fanuc controller and their application in CNC machinery is advantageous.
  • Experience using driven tooling for basic milling operations
  • Strong understanding of tooling requirements and machining principles (feeds and speeds)
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Ability to program offline using CADCAM such as Fusion 360 is a significant advantage
